Winter fog forces airlines to cancel flights from Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Domestic flights from Tribhuvan International Airport have been affected throughout the day on Tuesday after poor visibility and thick winter fog closed Biratnagar, Chandragadhi and Dhangadhi airports.

According to a record at TIA, the thick winter fog forced airlines to cancel all flights in Morang, Jhapa and Kailali districts due to poor visibility.

At least 12 flights were scheduled for the Biratnagar Airport, five for Chandragadhi and two for Dhangadhi on Tuesday.

Simara and Janakpur airport also received ony one flight each, an officer said.
