Woman rescued from Malaysia
KATHMANDU: A woman who was in Malaysia for employment has been rescued and brought back to Nepal on Saturday.
The woman identified as Yasoda Devkota (30) of Kalikasthan, Dhaibung-5 in Rusuwa district, was subjected to various forms of torture and abuse including delayed pay, exclusion from communications with the family and captivity at the workplace.
After she had anyhow informed the husband of the condition, the man had filed a complaint at the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, requesting the law enforcement agency to rescue her.
The victim had left for Malaysia on July 20, 2014 for employment.
The MPCD in coordination with the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia successfully rescued her and sent to Nepal yesterday.
Police said the further investigation is going on.
