Women’s dept announces annual plans

Lalitpur, August 14:

The Department of Women’s Development, which was allocated Rs 176 million in the budget of the fiscal year 2005/06, has announced various district-level and central-level programmes across the nation. Keshab Prasad Regmi, director of the department, said Rs 36 million has been allocated for the central-level programmes while Rs 56.5 million has been allotted for district-level programmes. The programmes include economic empowerment, reproductive health, special programmes for disadvantaged groups and the Badi community, gender mainstreaming programmes, and institutional development, monitoring, documentation and evaluation programmes.
