Working paper presented

Kathmandu, June 27 :

The office-bearers nominated to the local bodies during the time of the erstwhile royal government have been “found” to have been engaged in widespread misuse of the government means and resources.

As the individuals nominated to the Village Development Committees , the District Development Committees and the municipalities were appointed not as the representatives of the people but to establish the royal regime, they were found to have indulged more in misusing the resources than development-related and public works. This is stated in a working paper that President of the Association of the District Development Committees, Nepal, Krishna Prasad Sapkota, presented at an interaction programme on ‘’Period without the people’s representatives: the ambiguous expenses of the local bodies’’ organised by the Research and Media Center Against Corruption, Nepal (ReMac Nepal) here today.

It is stated in the working paper that during that time, the office-bearers nominated to the local bodies took benefits against the elated Acts and regulations.
