World Bank, NEA to survey transmission line

KATHMANDU: A team of experts from World Bank is all set to start a field survey of the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur high-tension transmission line starting tomorrow.

The team led by the World Bank's advisor Raghubir Sharma along with a team of Nepal Electricity Authority will conduct the field study for a week.

"The team is all set to start the work from tomorrow and will end up the survey of the region within a week," said Ram Chandra Pandey, Chief, Transmission Division, Nepal Electricity Authority.

According to Pandey, a team of the NEA has been conducting the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) survey and the World Bank team will cross check the details prepared by the NEA team.

"In the first week, between March 16 and March 22, the team will survey the regions in Nepal and then it will move to India to survey the parts of India," said Pandey.
