KATHMANDU: The World Teachers' Day was marked with the theme of 'Valuing Teachers, Improving their Status', on Wednesday.

At a programme organised here today by the Teachers' Union of Nepal (TUN), Minister for Education Dhaniram Paudel stressed the need to draft a road map to resolve the problems school employees and teachers face.

"There are complaints that the temporary teachers are not receiving salary. The government will make sure that anyone’s trouble will end", he added.

TUN Chairperson Keshab Niraula underlined the need of involvement of TUN in course of the implementation of laws governing teachers.

Various representatives of teachers' unions and organisations also voiced their demand to give due recognition to the teachers, at the function.
