Writ at SC demands Constitution amendment process stayed
KATHMANDU: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court demanding that discussions on the Constitution amendment bill registered at the Parliament on Tuesday be stayed.
Advocate Tikadhwaj Khadka filed the case arguing that the bill was against sentiments of the Constitution.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the Council of Ministers and the Parliament among others have been made defendants in the case.
The petitioner has argued that the proposed amendment would snatch away rights of provincial parliaments and people there to decide boundaries of their states.
