KATHMANDU: A police imposter has been arrested on charge of extortion from Koteshwor of Kathmandu on Monday.

Police said Keshav Singh (27) of Kanchanpur, currently residing in Sukedhara in the Capital, allegedly tried to extort money and a mobile phone from Shubham Bogati of Doti district.

Singh was arrested when he went to Bogati's rented room in Koteshwor claiming that he was a policeman and intimidated him to give him money and mobile phone, according to police.

An investigation into the case is underway, said police.
