Bhaktapur, November 6:

Cadres of the UML-aligned Youth Force today caught eight persons with counterfeit dollars from Chyamasingh and handed them over to the police.

“We seized three bundles of fake dollars while the gang of eight persons was about to exchange the dollars with Nepali rupees,” said Binod KC, Bhaktapur in-charge of the YF.

KC identified the eight as Bikash Khadka (15) of Dolakha, Deepak Lama (30) of Sindhupalchok, Mana Bahadur Karki (25), Lila Bahadur Thapa Magar (35), Ram Saran Rana Magar (25) and Hansha Bahadur Thapa Magar (42) of Kavre, Keshar Bahadur Tamang (52), and Hari Krishna Bhaile. “We also seized a motorcycle from them,” he said.

KC said they became suspicious upon finding that the gang was accepting Rs 25 for a dollar. A dollar fetches Rs 75.
