A versatile ride
After the huge success of its previous models, Ducati will be launching the new Multistrada in the Nepali market. Turbo Motors, the authorised distributor of Ducati in Nepal, is all set to introduce the much-awaited Multistrada 950 in the domestic market. According to the company, the sporty bike is expected to hit the Nepali roads by early March.
“Currently there is no product in Nepal that can be compared to the Multistrada 950,” claimed Sashwat Rijal, Marking Manager at Ducati, adding that it combines comfort, style and superior performance. According to Rijal, Multistrada 950 is perfect for riding on all terrain — touring, urban, sporty or enduro riding. “As touring and adventure biking trend is growing in Nepal, this model is perfectly suited for that purpose,” he said.
Powered by the 937cc Testastretta 11-degree engine, the Multistrada produces a maximum power of 113 hp at 9,000 rpm and peak torque of 96.2 Nm at 7750 rpm. Meeting Eur4 emissions standards, its 937cc power plant features new 53mm cylindrical-section throttle bodies with ride-by-wire control, a new ECU, and a 2-into-1-into-2 exhaust system. Maintenance intervals are 9,000 miles or 12 months, with valve clearance inspection every 18,000 miles.
This new model features a steel-tube trellis frame that incorporates aluminum side plates for swing arm mounting along with a twin-sided swingarm. Suspension is provided by a 48mm Kayaba inverted fork and Sachs shock, with adjustable preload, compression and rebound damping and 170mm of travel front and rear. A 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel carry Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres in 120/70 and 170/60 sizes, and the Brembo brakes incorporate four-piston monobloc front calipers with 320mm discs.
Furthermore, it comes with the Ducati Safety Pack, which includes the latest Bosch 9.1 MP ABS with 3-level adjustment and 8-level Ducati traction control. These safety systems apply different intervention levels depending on the selected riding mode; riders can personalise them to set up the Multistrada 950 to match their individual needs and riding skills.
The price of the Multistrada 950 will start from Rs 29.5 lakhs onwards.
