Binod Chaudhary's memoir launched in Delhi

KATHMANDU: ‘Making it Big’, English translation of memoir by Binod Chaudhary, the first Nepali billionaire and the man behind the Wai Wai noodles brand, was launched amid a ceremony in the Indian capital of New Delhi on Wednesday.

The book was unveiled by Medanta Hospital Chairman and Managing Director Dr Naresh Trehan, Parliament members Shatrughan Singha and Subbirami Reddy.

Other well-known personalities including Maruti Suzuki Motors Chairman RC Bhargava, Minister Madan Mohan Mittal, Parliament member Pawan Verma, former Member of Parliament Ramdas Agarwal and founder President of International Vaish Federation and RJ Corporation Chairman Ravi Jaipuria were also present at the event.

The highlight of the event was a tête-à-tête on ‘Making it Big’ between Chaudhary and Fortune India editor and author Hindol Sengupta.

Art of Living Foundation founder and spiritual leader Ravi Shankar extended Chaudhary the best wishes for success of his book through a special televised message.

The event was organised by Varun Chaudhary, youngest son of Binod Chaudhary.

The memoir was first published by Nepalaya in 2013 in Nepali language and was later translated into English in 2015.

The present version of the memoir, ‘Making it Big’ has been revised and published by Penguin for South Asian markets excluding Nepal, the Nepa~laya said in a statement today.

The memoir traces the life and journey of Chaudhary, narrating stiff challenges and obstacles he faced and his legendary rise to setting up one of South Asia’s leading business groups – CG Corp Global.
