In the quiet company of GOOD FOOD AND GREAT AMBIENCE

Shrijana Singh Yonjan indulges in scrumptious delicacies served by Embassy Restaurant and Bar

Running on its third year, Embassy Restaurant is counted among the finest restaurants in town. Our guest Shrijana, finds the garden setting suitable to her mood as she indulges in good food, soaking up the winter sun, out in the garden.

The owner of the restaurant, Kishor Pradhan, joins Shrijana and takes her through the menu, he says, “While the restaurant already has an extensive menu, it also serves a full barbeque menu and Indian kitchen with live food station. We also organise live performance every Friday and live piano every Saturday.”

Shrijana selects these dishes carefully with a little help from her new friend:

Trout Fish with Lemon Comfit

Served with garlic bok choy, seasonal fruits and organic greens.

It’s a tsunami of flavours on the plate. The fish is marinated in light sauce and cooked to perfection.

Price: Rs 1,200

Hadi Chicken

Served with capsicum, onion gravy or red gravy.

This dish is a bit too spicy for me. However, it is ideal for lovers of spice food.

Price:

Rs 450

Chicken Caesar Salad

Grilled chicken with iceberg lettuce, egg, grated cheese, crouton and Caesar dressing.

I love salads and greens. It’s the first thing I order when I am out for food. The one served today has a light dressing which I think makes it perfect.

Price: Rs 350

Samurai Maki

Japanese sticky rice with smoked salmon, crab stick, papaya and seaweed sheet.

The ingredients used are not overpowering making the dish deliciously mild.

Price: Rs 550

Shrijana’s overall verdict

Embassy is a good restaurant where the kitchen knows what it’s cooking. The ambience compliments the food served. For those who love to eat their meals in peace relishing every bite, this may be the right place.
