KATHMANDU: An anthology of stories titled Crossroads has been launched in the Capital on Saturday.

The Institute of Advanced Communication Education and Research (IACER) affiliated to the Pokhara University launched it as its second collection of stories.  Earlier, it had published Hulaki, a similar collection two years back.

The present collection compiles 17 stories by various Nepali writers writing in English.

Launching the collection, Prof Dr Sanjeev Upretry lauded the local Nepali flavour carried by the stories collected.

He appreciated the authors for deconstructing the stock notion that everything Western is sublime, and everything non-Western is second-grade.

Similarly, Prof Dr Amma Raj Joshi noted the cultural backdrop against which the stories stand. He also appreciated the eclectic flavour of narrativisation, and the experiments the authors have taken up in their language.

Speaking at the same programme, Prof Dr Arun Gupto observed that the publication was a mark of the team's consistent engagement and hard work.
