KATHMANDU: Paintings depicting happiness, joy and bright aspects of children's lives by Nepali artist Sabin Sainju aka Soham were showcased at an art exhibition held at Cemara 6 Galeri Museum, Jakarta, Indonesia from July 27 to August 3.

In the solo exhibition titled 'The Bright Episode', Soham showcased children's struggles, resilience, aspirations, and their transition towards new episode of life via 17 oil paintings, according to a press release issued by the artist.

His artworks at the exhibition displayed a range of colours representing the children's happiness, while reflecting the diversity of children around the world who are full of hopes and dreams.

Each painting comprised purple, blue, brown, green and orange as dominant hues along with a combination of figurative and abstract lines, stated the press release.

"The characters' difficult situation and their resilience in overcoming it and moving forward towards a brighter side of their lives is the main inspiration in my work," the press statement quoted the artist as saying.

Soham works as a Child Protection Officer in the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) Jakarta. He debuted as an artist with his solo exhibition at Nepal Art Council in Kathmandu in 2007. The exhibition in Jakarta was a collaboration of Soham, Cemara 6 Galeri Museum, Everest Art Gallery, and Art Plads as per the artist.
