For the perfect walk: Gorgeous models train for the upcoming Fashion Week

KATHMANDU: The dates are getting closer for the most elegant and the biggest four-day-long fashion-filled extravaganza. The Blenders Pride -TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2016, which is known only for the best of the best, will be taking place at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu from March 30 to April 2.

Almost every model dreamt to be a part of this grand fashion event. But only those who could shine out from the rest, have got the chance to walk on this glamorous ramp.

However even for the best to be at their best, they need to work hard. So, as the saying goes ‘practice makes you perfect’, the gorgeous models have been training to do the perfect walk at Blenders Pride -TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2016 from March 14. For the past weeks, they have been working intensively with choreographer Sijan Bhattachan for more than three hours every day at International Club, Sanepa.

Bhattachan walked the ramp of TGIF Nepal Fashion Week as a model herself in 2009. It has given her an added benefit as she knows the set up not only as a choreographer but also from a model’s point of view.

“When we first came for the auditions we thought our walk was perfect. However as we have been training with Sijan, we are learning about each and every small detail that we had been missing. She notices the most minor mistakes and helps us to correct them,” shares Sudishi Thapa, one of the 20 models for this year’s Fashion Week.

Similarly model Alka Rai, who was a part of the show in 2014 feels, “Sijan has a very different approach when it comes to training. This year the audience can definitely expect something new and fresh.”

As for Bhattachan, she is super excited to see the results. “It is my very first time as a choreographer and I am very excited to see the creations of the student designers participating in this event. From their sketches and choices of fabric to their presentation, everything has impressed me.”

Bhattachan further adds that she is taking full responsibility of the show for training the models to walk the ramp. “I hope this year, we give the thrill to the audience through glamour, beauty and fashion,” she says.
