Prollas Sindhuliya wins 1st prize in Poetry Festival

KATHMANDU: Prollas Sindhuliya, a poet from Sindhuli district of central Nepal, has won the first prize in this year' National Poetry Festival.

His poem 'Gaunko Briddhalaya' secured the first position.

Similarly, 'Aamako Jaanto Ra Mero Jindagi' by Saraswoti Dumi Rai of Panchthar won the second prize while 'Tato Baluwama Chhati Dhasyeako Jindagi' of Sojho Gaunle of Bajhang, 'Jana Awaj' of Sudesh Satyal of Tanahun and 'Euta Daasko Ghosanapatra' of Raju Syangtan of Mahottari won the third prizes in the Festival, said Member-Secretary at the Nepal Academy, Jibendra Dev Giri.

Poets Dinesh Adhilari, Purushottam Subdei, Jagat Upadhyay 'Prekshit', Upendra Subba and Dhan Prasad Subedi were in the jury.

Speaker Onsari Gharti had inaugurated the Festival.
