TATA’s Test-Drive Education campaign concludes

KATHMANDU: Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd, the authorised distributor of Tata Motors for Nepal, concluded its ‘Test-Drive for Education’ on January 20.

According to Hemant Puranik, Country Manager for Nepal, Tata Motors, the campaign was initiated to extend financial help to children deprived of education. “Tata Motors Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, in line with our philosophy of giving back to society, are continuously improving quality of lives across the globe. The focus of our corporate social responsibility initiatives are mainly on health, education, employability and environment,” Puranik shared.

Under ‘Test-Drive Campaign for Education’, Tata’s latest cars — Tiago, Bolt and Zest were displayed at 24 schools in 11 cities across Nepal. “This was a unique campaign where one could gift education to an underprivileged child by donating around 20 minutes of their time for the test drive. We got the names of 24 different schools through PABSON and approached them. We requested the schools to pass the news to parents, who were interested to take a test drive in our displayed cars. For each test drive, Tata motors donated Rs 500 to the schools. This donation is to be used by school for the education of underprivileged children from society,” Puranik said.

He claimed that the ‘Test-Drive Campaign’, which started on September 16, 2016 was extremely successful — a total of 10,074 test-drives were conducted.
