Team behind the Fashion Week

Along with models and designers, there are a number of other people working together to make the Blenders Pride -TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2016 a success. And these crew members share their stories on what to expect at the upcoming fashion show scheduled to be held from March 30 to April 2 at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu.

I have been a part of this fashion extravaganza for the last seven years. And I think this year, the expectations of the audience and the event itself have got a high track. This year too it’s going to be totally different and exciting, from new choreographer, models to make-up artist. Last year was all about the hi-tech. This year we have big stage, new designs, sequences and props with surprises.

— Gavin Leicester, Overall Coordination

After a huge success of the fashion show by our designers, my expectations have increased for this event. This year everything is fully set, to go with new themes, fabrics and hard work of young designers. From the designers, to the models, stage set up, choreography, everything has been changed. We have focused on accessories as well. The designer’s works are also different. Besides, we have more international brands working with us, everything is of an international level this year.

— Shailaja Adhikary, Managing Director, IEC Group

Every year TGIF Nepal Fashion Week brings something out of the box and this year too we are giving everything — creativity, and technology, all bigger and better. The benchmark of Nepali fashion industry, it is the platform to discover new trends and emerging designs. From choreographer to models, designers and make-up artist, each aspect has been given a deeper thought. I believe the audience will get to see various evolving fashion trends with loads of fabrics and patterns all under one roof.

— Harshawardhan Shahani, CEO, V-Chitra

I have walked the ramp of TGIF Nepal Fashion Week as a model in 2009 and this will be my first time as a choreographer. I am very excited to see the creation of student designers participating in this event. From their sketches and choice of fabrics to presentation, everything is simply amazing. As I am part of the event, I have a full responsibility of the show. I hope this year we give the thrill to the audience through glamour, beauty and fashion.

— Sijan Bhattachan, Choreographer

It’s an honour for me to be a part of the biggest fashion extravaganza of Nepal as a campaign shoot photographer. TGIF Nepal Fashion Week is not just about fashion or promoting designers or models, it is a very spectacular fashion event that simply has no match. I am excited to watch new designers who are looking forward to make their mark by unleashing their creative side alongside the professional designers who are working hard to showcase some truly beautiful collections of their upcoming designs. As always, we can expect to witness some truly inspirational work of art from our creative professional and upcoming designers from Nepal — a lot of hand-picked new faces are walking on the ramp and all that talent and creativity will be showcased.

— Gaurav Man Sherchan, Campaign Shoot Photographer

Being a part of the biggest fashion extravaganza for the first time has given me goose bumps and thrills. From my side as a make-up artist and hair stylist, it’s more challenging as the seniors used to do it. So, my expectations are high this time. Along with my team, I will be working harder to make the show outstanding. TGIF Nepal Fashion is that arena to showcase one’s creativity and talents, and present them among the mass. I will be giving different looks which nobody has seen before. All the preparations are worth to watch.

— Suman Lama, Official Make-up Artist/Hair Stylist

This is the third time I have been associated with TGIF Nepal Fashion Week and I have more expectation with the event. The audience will be witnessing 3D mapping and more additional lighting as well as additional stage design. I feel lucky to work again because all the team is professional and hard working, which makes the show happening and demanding. This time we have difference in the choreography part, lights and sound design, and the photography will show the end result which will be witnessed by the people on the particular days of the Fashion Week.
