Tropical storm drifting toward Mexico's Pacific coastline

MIAMI:  Tropical Storm Marty is drifting slowly northward toward Mexico's coast in the eastern Pacific.

The US National Hurricane Center in Miami said early Monday morning that a tropical storm watch is in effect for the Mexican coast from Acapulco to Lazaro Cardenas.

Marty is centered about 225 miles (360 kilometers) west-southwest of Acapulco.

Forecasters say the storm is moving to the north at 2 mph (4 kph) and has maximum sustained winds of 70 mph (110 kph).

Meanwhile in the Atlantic, a tropical depression remains poorly organised with maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 kph). The depression is centered about 420 miles (675 kilometers) southwest of Bermuda and is moving west near 2 mph (4 kph).
