Bhaktapur's Sindoor Jatra in pictures
Local residents marked the Sindoor Jatra festival in Bhaktapur on Saturday. Along with the beating of traditional drums and jhyalis, revellers sang and danced while carrying chariot of various deities around the ancient city. They threw vermilion powder to welcome the advent of spring and welcome the New Year. Here are some photographs of the celebrations:
