Kathmandu, January 17

Following are some glimpses of Seven Summit Treks K2 Winter expedition made by at least 10 Nepali climbers as taken on January 16, 2021.

They scripted history in mountain-climbing by making the first ever winter ascent of the world’s second highest peak.

The first three images show an aerial view of the Summit Treks K2 Winter expedition base camp, fourth image is a group photo of international climbers and Sherpas at the base camp, fifth image shows Galje Sherpa (L), Chhang Dawa (leader of the expedition) (M) and Sona Sherpa (R), and in the last image Sona Sherpa is holding the banner of Seven Summit Treks on the top of Mt K2 as taken on 16 January - 16:58 local time.
