KATHMANDU, MARCH 8

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) won a landslide victory in the Morang district House of Representatives election. The RSP candidates have won all six constituencies in the district, making a clean sweep.

RSP candidates won by a wide margin in all six Morang constituencies.

MORANG-1

The RSP's candidate, Yagyamani Neupane, was elected from Morang-1 in the House of Representatives election. According to the final results released by the Office of the Returning Officer, Neupane won with 27,367 votes.

In this constituency, he faced off against Shanti Pakhrin Lama, the Shram Sanskriti Party's candidate. Lama garnered 17,522 votes.

Similarly, Khadga Bahadur Phago of the Nepali Congress received 11,986 votes, finishing third. Ghanashyam Khatiwada, the CPN-UML candidate, received 9,823 votes, while Kul Prasad Samba of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) received 2,224.

MORNG-2

Krishna Karki, an RSP candidate, was elected to the House of Representatives from Morang's House of Representatives Constituency 2.

According to data released by the Office of the Returning Officer, Karki received 40,924 votes. This is 25,300 more votes than his closest competitor, CPN-UML candidate Dilip Kumar Agrawal. Agrawal got 15,624 votes. Dr Minendra Rijal, an influential Nepali Congress leader and former minister, has slipped to third place. Rijal received just 12,664 votes.

MORANG-3

Ganesh Karki of the RSP has been elected to the House of Representatives for Morang-3 in the election. According to the Election Commission, Karki of the RSP has been elected as MP with 36,924 votes. His opponent, Sunil Kumar Sharma of the Nepali Congress, received 24,254 votes.

Similarly, Amir Magar of the Shram Sanskriti Party received 16,509 votes, while Iran Kumar Rai of the CPN-UML received 7,752 votes and Dr Deuman Sambahangphe of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP) received 1,259 votes.

MORANG-4

Santosh Rajbanshi of the RSP has been elected to Morang-4. He won with 40,833 votes. Her closest competitor, Gururaj Ghimire of the Nepali Congress, received only 12,818 votes.

Rajkumar Yadav of the Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal received 8,747 votes, while the Nepali Communist Party's Shiva Kumar Mandal Kewat received 8,614 votes. Manoj Kumar Agrawal, the CPN-UML candidate, received 6,945 votes.

Morang constituency-5 received 78,449 votes. The Returning Officer's Office reported that 70,560 of these votes were legitimate and 7,889 were not.

MORANG-5

Asha Jha, the RSP candidate, has won the Morang House of Representatives Constituency-5. According to the final results released by the Office of the Returning Officer, Jha won with 30,434 votes.

Her closest challenger, Nepali Congress candidate Phool Kumar Lalbani, received only 9,415 votes. The difference in votes between Jha and Lalbani is 2,119.

MORANG-6

Rubina Acharya of the RSP prevailed in Morang-6. The Election Office reported that she won with 55,513 votes. Shekhar Koirala of the Nepali Congress is the nearest competitor here. He accumulated 12,850 votes.
