KATHMANDU: A person was killed and two others injured after a motorcycle hit a bicycle in Surunga Municipality-5 of Saptari district on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as motorcyclist Rajiv Kumar Chaudhary (35) of Sukhipur Municipality-4 in Siraha district; injured as pillion rider Bhuneshwar Chaudhary (30) of Bodebarsain Municipality-8 in Saptari and cyclist Mahesh Thakur (30) of Surunga Municipality-8 of Saptari.

The incident occurred when the motorcycle (Sa 9 Pa 1977) hit the cycle and fell on the road in Kusaha at 9:30 pm yesterday, injuring all three, according to the Area Police Office, Kadarbona.

The injured were rushed to the Lahan-based Divine Hospital where Rajiv succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment while other two have been undergoing treatment there, informed police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
