1 dead, 2 injured in Pokhara road accident

POKHARA: A person died while two sustained injuries after a scorpio jeep hit scooters in Pokhara Metropolitan City-26 in Kaski district on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Nanda Prasad Gurung (29) of Beshisahar in Lamjung and injured as Ajit Gurung (43) of Pokhara-8 and Kailash Thapa (35) of Pokhara-31.

According to police, the trio were injured after the scorpio jeep (Ga 1 Ye 875) hit the scoters (Ga 12 Pa 8800) and (Ga 9 Pa 5482) at Talchok at around 6:35 pm yesterday.

Critically injured Nanda Prasad, driver of the scooter (Ga 12 Pa 8800), was rushed to the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital where he breathed his last during treatment the same night at around 9:30 pm, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raj Kumar KC, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Kaski.

Two other injured — another scooter rider Ajit and jeep driver Thapa — are undergoing treatment at Srijana Chok-based Metro City Hospital, Pokhara.

Police is monitoring Thapa while, he is being treated at the hospital.
