1 dead, 3 hurt as truck plunges 50m in Dhading

DHADING: A person was killed and three others were injured after a truck they were travelling on skidded off the road in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-5 of Dhading district along the Prithvi Highway this morning.

The deceased has been identified as a passenger Khem Bahadur Chhatkuli (30) of Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-7 in the district and injured as the driver Pradip Thapaliya, Gyanendra Chhatkuli and Sujan Kandel.

The truck (Ga 1 Kha 4964) en route from Kathmandu to Chitwan skidded off the road and fell about 50 metres below, injuring four persons in Chardhare today, according to the Gajuri-based Area Police Office.

The injured were rushed to the Malekhu-based Rajmarg Community Hospital where Chhatkuli succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment. Rest of them are undergoing treatment in the hospital, said police.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, informed police.
