DAMAULI: A person died and another sustained injuries after the motorcycle they were travelling on met with an accident in Bhimad Municipality-2 of Tanahun district on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as motorcyclist Mesh Bahadur Thapa (18) and pillion rider Nar Bahadur Thapa (24), both residents in the locality.

According to police, the incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ga 12 Pa 6706) en route from Bhimad to Raghu lost control and fell on the road, critically injuring the duo.

Mesh Bahadur Thapa succumbed to his injuries the same night during the course of treatment at Damauli Hospital while Nar Bahadur has been undergoing treatment at the Pokhara-based Gandaki Hospital, informed the District Police Office, Tanahun.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
