DAMAULI: A person died after being hit by a vehicle in Byas Municipality-1 along Damauli-Dumre Road section of Tanahun district  on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as  Narayan Neupane (46) of Byas Municipality-10 of the district.

According to police, the incident occurred when Neupane en route to Damauli on feet while carrying milk was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Chautara near Buldi Bridge this morning, injuring him.

The cirtically injured Neupane was rushed to the Damauli Hospital, where he breathed his last during the course of treatment, informed police.

Police after the preliminary investigation assumed that the vehicle veered off to the wrong side of the road to hit the Neupane.

Meanwhile, the body is being kept at the Damauli Hospital for postmortem and search is on for the absconding vehicle for further investigation, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sunil Malla, at the District Police Office, Tanahun.
