KATHMANDU: A person was killed on the spot after being hit by a vehicle in Gaindakot Municipality-15 along the Mahendra Highway of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) on Thursday night.

The deceased who appears to be in his early 40s is yet to be identified.

According to police, the incident occurred when an unidentified vehicle hit the pedestrian in Amarapuri at 12:45 am yesterday.

Meanwhile, the body has been sent to the Bharatpur Hospital for postmortem, informed police.

Further investigation into the case is underway and search is on for the vehicle that fled the scene, said police.
