KATHMANDU: A 47-year-old man died on the spot and three others sustained injuries after being struck by lightning in Meghang Rural Mnicipality-6 in Nuwakot on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Deep Ram Tamang, a local.

Similarly, his son Surya Tamang (22), daughter in law Sushma Tamang (22) and 5-month-old grandson Arun Tamang were injured in the incident.

The injured were undergoing treatment at the Nuwakot-based City Hospital where they were later referred to the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

Among the injured, Arun is in critical condition, said police.

Police are looking into the case.
