KATHAMNDU: A person died and another sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were riding on skidded off and fell some 80 metres down the road in Yangbarak Rural Municipality-1 of Panchthar district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as pillion rider Santosh Begha (28), and injured as the motorcyclist Milan Chauhan (24), both the residents of Yangbarak Rural Municipality -2.

The incident occurred when the motorcycle (Me 8 Pa 9236) heading for Chyanthapu from Phalaincha met with the accident at Chyangthapu Bazar, injuring the duo riders, according to Police Head Constable Chitra Limbu at the District Police Office.

The incident occurred at around 5:45 pm yesterday.

Begha breathed his last on the way to the Panchthar District Hospital while Chauhan is being treated there, Head Constable Limbu informed.
