RAJBIRAJ: A person died and 13 others were injured after a van (Ko 1 Ja 1551) collided with a bus (Na 3 Kha 5055) at Deuri of Bharuwa VDC-1 of Saptari district on Sunday afternoon.

Ramananda Mandal (28), who was driving the van, died on the spot after it collided with the

bus along the Rajbiraj-Hanuman Nagar road section of the district.

The bus was heading towards Rajbiraj to fetch passengers for a marriage ceremony.

Bhagwati Kaugadiya (45) of Madhawapur-9, Balaram Mandal (35) of Yoginiya-6, Bipin Karna (45) of Bhardaha-1, Ram Binaya Mukhiya (20) of Banarjhula, Om Prakash Dev (40) of Madhawapur-3 and Annapurna Dev (45) of Rajbiraj-9 were injured in the incident.

Similarly, Gyandhar Mandal of Yoginiya-1, Khattar Mandal (55) of Sadepar-4, Chandan Sunaraie of Kanchanpur-8, Shiva Narayan Mandal of Belhichapena-6 and Binda Sharma of Phasaith-5 were also injured in the incident.

All of them were travelling on the van while it met with the accident.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital in the district headquarters Rajbiraj.

Balaram Mandal and Bipin Karna have been sent to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
