KAWASOTI: One person died and three others were injured in a car-truck collision Madhyabindu Municipality-7 of Nawalparasi district along the East-West Highway on Saturday.

The accident took place when the car bearing Indian registration number plate (MH 47 S 2493) heading towards Kathmandu from Sunauli collided head-on with the truck (Ba 1 Ka 2046).

The deceased has been identified as Avay Chandra Yadav (39) of Maharastra, India, police said.

Similarly, Yogesh Bhatta, Dilip Soni and Jitendra Pal of India were injured in the incident.

They are receiving treatment at the Chitwan Medical College.

Police said that the driver was found driving the car under the influence of alcohol, which is suspected to be the reason behind the accident.
