POKHARA: A person died and two others went missing after a rain-triggered landslide buried six houses in Tamankhola Rural Municipality-4 of Baglung district on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Santa Kumari Shripali. Likewise, the missing have been identified as Ansari Shripali (70) and 12-year-old Prabin Shripali, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jhabindra Bhattarai at Baglung District Police Office.

The incessant rainfall on Sunday night triggered the landslide which fell into the village 100 metres below, which also injured six others. Other family members of the buried houses were saved after they ran away.

The injured were sent to a local medical facility for treatment. Among them, one is critical with serious injuries in the back, added DSP Bhattarai.

Police personnel have been deployed for the search and rescue operation, police said.
