1 killed, 21 injured in Baglung jeep accident

KATHMANDU: One person died and 21 others were injured when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Chille Khola in Banapa VDC-5 of Baglung district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Sunita Nepali (25) of Sigana VDC in the district.

According to Sub-Inspector Ram Bahadur Thapa of the District Police Office, Baglung, the incident occurred when the four-wheeler (Dha 1 Jha 68) heading towards Sigana from Baglung Bazaar skidded off the road and fell some 100 metres down at around 8 pm yesterday.

Among the injured, six have been sent to the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital for treatment while others are undergoing treatment at the Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital, Thapa added.

The reason behind the accident is yet to be established.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, said police.
