POKHARA: A person died and three others sustained injuries after being struck by a bolt of lightning in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City-23 of Kaski district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as local Sanjita BK (23) and injured as her brother-in-law Bel Bahadur BK (21) and their neighbours Ila BK (35) and Pabitra BK (17).

The lighting struck in Chapakot at around 5:30 pm yesterday, according to the Kaski District Police Office.

Critically injured in the incident, BK breathed her last while on the way to a hospital. Currently the body of the deceased has been kept at the Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara for postmortem.

Meanwhile, the brother-in-law of the deceased is said to be in critical condition and being treated at the Pokhara-based Gandaki Medical College while two others are being treated at the Fishtail Hospital in Pokhara, informed DSP Khadga Bahadur Khatri at the DPO.
