RAJBIRAJ: One woman died and five persons sustained injuries after a car they were travelling on lost control and rammed into the bridge along the East-West Highway at Mohanpur of Saptari district, on Sunday.

Police identified the deceased as Rabina Rai of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-11. Rai, who was seriously injured in the accident, died on the way to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Health Sciences.

The driver lost control of the car after one of its tyres went flat, leading to the fatal accident, according to the District Police Office, Saptari.

The car overturned on the highway as it hit the bridge railing.

It has been learned that the vehicle was heading towards the west at the time of the incident.
