KATHMANDU: A person died and five others sustained injuries after the tempo they were travelling on met with an accident in Dhanushadham Municipality-3 of Dhanusha district on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Lat Narayan Paswan and injured as Amrita Paswan (25), Phul Kumari Kapar (30), Krishna Neupane (58), Rameshwar Mahara (25) and Sarita Ram (18) of the municipality.

According to police, the incident occurred when the tempo (Ja 1 Ha 3421) lost its control and fell on the road at Dharapani in Naya Buspark at 8:00 pm yesterday, injuring six passengers.

The injured were rushed to a local health facility, however, Lat Narayan breathed his last on the way there, while others injured have been undergoing treatment at the facility, informed police.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and search is on for the absconding tempo driver, said Area Police Office, Dhanushadham.
