HETAUNDA: A woman died on the spot and nine others sustained injuries after a jeep skidded off and fell some 50 metres below the road at Jyamire of Indrasarowar Rural Municipality-2 in Makawanpur district on Sunday.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

According to local Dipendra Pudasaini, the incident occurred when the jeep (NA 1 JA 3701), heading towards Sarlahali from Kathmandu met with the accident at around 11:00 am today.

One of the injured is in critical condition, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bamdev Gautam, the spokesperson at the Makawandpur District Police Office.

All the injured have been rescued and preparations were underway to send them Kathmandu for treatment, Pudasaini added.
