KATHMANDU: A person died and another was critically injured when the motorcycle they were riding on collided with a truck near the Gomati Bridge in Benighat-9 of Dhading district in the wee hours of Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as pillion rider of the motorcycle (Ga 13 Pa 139), Manoj Thapa (26) and the critically injured as rider Rijan Sangraula (22), both of Gorkha district.

Thapa breathed his last on the way to a hospital.

Meanwhile, Sangraula is being treated at the Bansbari-based Neuro Hospital in Kathmandu.

The bike collided head-on with the truck (Na 3 Kha 7997) at around 2 am this morning.

Police have impounded both the vehicles and arrested the four-wheeler driver for further investigation.
