CHITWAN: More than ten houses in the squatters’ settlement at Bandarjhula of Ayodhyapuri-9 have been gutted in fire at around 4 pm today. The fire has not come under control till late evening. Ram Prasad Bhandari, a local teacher, said that the fire broke out from the house of Bir Bahadur B.K. of plot no-3.

A team of the police from the area police office Madi and the locals are having a go at dousing the fire. According to District Police Office, the office is preparing to send additional security forces in the incident area. No causality has been reported yet.

However, talking on the phone, a local said that foodstuffs and the domestic animals have been burnt to ashes. The incident area is as far as 100 km from the district headquarter.
