10-year master plan ready for Karnali development
KATHMANDU: The Karnali Development Commission on Friday submitted the outline of a 10-year master plan it prepared for the development of the remote region to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
The Commission team led by its Chairman Chandra Kanta Paudel had also briefed the Prime Minister Dahal that difficulties in transportation, food crisis, lack of access to education, failure to manage and properly utilise herbs available among others were challenges in front of the development of the region.
Meanwhile, the Commission claimed that the poverty in Karnali could be reduced to 21 per cent within next 10 years if the master plan was effectively implemented.
In response, the Prime Minister said the Cabinet would hold discussions on the master plan and prioritise implementation of it through various ministries.
The meeting was held at the Office of the Prime Minister in Singhadarbar.
