100-km track opened for Jajarkot-Dolpa road

JAJARKOT: The Nepal Army (NA), which has undertaken the construction of Jajarkot-Dolpa Road, shared that it has already opened the 100-km road track of the total 118 km.

According to Bishwabandhu Pahadi, Chief of the Road Construction Taskforce of the NA, the track which recently has been opened by the Army already has seen vehicular movements.

Pahadi said that a 76-km road stretching from Jajarkot to Manakabagar in Rukum is believed to come into operation by mid-July while the construction of Jajarkot-Dolpa road is expected to be completed by mid of October.

"Remaining road construction is expected to complete by mid-November," shared Pahadi.

According to him, the main challenge of Jajarkot-Dolpa road track is to clear the 18-km rocky terrain to open track to Dolpa.
