11 injured in two separate microbus accidents in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: As many as 11 persons were injured in two separate accidents involving microbuses along the East-West Highway in Saptari on Tuesday.

A westward bound microbus (Ba 4 Kha 823) swerved out of control and flipped on the road during the rain at Kanchanrup Municipality-2 injuring five on board. The injured passengers have been identified as Kalpana Subedi, 40, of Koteshwor-4 in Kathmandu.

The injured have been undergoing treatment at the Theliya-based Dharmeshwor Hospital. The Area Police Office, Kanchanpur has detained the microbus driver and impounded the vehicle.

In another incident, a microbus (Ba 4 Kha 5183) en route to Kathmandu from Hile of Shambhunath Municipality-8 also lost control and flipped on the road injuring six passengers.

The injured are Pramila Chaulagain (21) and Rabilal Bishwakarma (47) of Charambi-6 in Bhojpur district, Dil Bahadur Nepali (46) of Dhankuta Municipality-1, driver Ram Tamang (39) of Lakhanpur-7 in Ramechap district, Tulasi Rai (36) of Deurali-9 in Bhojpur district and Santosh Nepal (34) of Sahare-6 in Dolakha district.

Among the injured, Chaulagain, Bishwakarma and Nepali are undergoing treatment at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences while others are being treated at local medical clinics, according to the District Police Office, Saptari.
