A total of 114 students at the master's and bachelor's levels graduated from Rajarshi Janak University on Tuesday.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who also serves as the Chancellor of the University, conferred degrees upon the graduates during the university's inaugural convocation ceremony held in Janakpur.
On the occasion, the Prime Minister awarded medals to four outstanding students and recognized ten top scorers from various faculties and academic programs.
Addressing the event, senior litterateur Prof. Dr. Rajendra Bimal urged the graduates to prioritize the nation and society by applying their knowledge and skills meaningfully.
University Vice Chancellor Dr. Amar Prasad Yadav described the convocation as a historic milestone and reiterated the university's commitment to delivering quality education.
Rajarshi Janak University currently offers 13 academic programs under four faculties: Humanities and Law; Science, Technology and Engineering; Health; and Management.
Dr. Yadav shared that approximately 1,700 students from 19 districts across five provinces are enrolled in different affiliated campuses. The university comprises five constituent campuses and 69 affiliated ones.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister and Chancellor Oli chaired the university's Senate meeting prior to the convocation ceremony.
