KHOTANG: The body of one of the children missing in the Sunkoshi River has been found on Saturday.

The body of 12-year-old Suman Shrestha from Barahpokhari Rural Municipality-2 was found washed up on the riverbank four kilometers downstream from where the children disappeared on May 5, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Lokadarshan Thapa at District Police Office, Khotang.

The bodies of Anita Mahji (11) and Sabin Mahji (10) who disappeared with Shrestha are yet to be found.

The children were grazing goats in the forest when they decided to take a dip in the river due to the scorching heat which led to their drowning.

Meanwhile, the search for the missing is underway.
