13 govt offices in remote rural Bhojpur lack staff

BHOJPUR: Government offices in remote rural Bhojpur district have been facing staff shortage.

At least 13 offices including District Administration Office, District Coordination Committee, District Land Revenue Office and Salpasilichho Rural Municipality lack accountants.

For the first time the offices in the district have faced the shortage of such number of staff since the implementation of local level governance, according to District Treasury Controller Office (DTCO) of Bhojpur. The number of accountants working in offices are less than the numbers assigned, the DTCO informed.

Prior to this, the staff assigned from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration denied working in the district due to its remote inaccessible location.

It has been difficult for the government offices and rural municipalities to carry on with the works as the new fiscal year is approaching, the offices have lamented.
