131,950 new voters in Province 7

With the addition of new voters, it has become very difficult to make predictions about the results of upcoming elections in Province 7. Although, results of the recently held local polls give the left alliance an edge over the Nepali Congress, the addition of new voters may change the equation completely.

If the parties are able to retain their votes earned in the civic polls, votes of new voters are going to be decisive in many places.

After the civic polls, as many as 131,950 new voters have been added to the voter list in Province 7. The total number of eligible voters stands at 14, 35,673 now in the province.

Election Commission had launched a campaign to update voter list with photographs for provincial and parliamentary polls slated for November 26 and December 7 after the civic polls.

According to data at Regional Election Office, Dhangadi, 57,298 new voters have been added in Kailali. A total of 460,578 voters are eligible to cast their ballot in the upcoming polls in the district.

Similarly, 6,665 new voters in Bajhang, 9,161 in Achham, 5,656 in Doti, 4,884 in Bajura, 7,495 in Baitadi, 29,238 in Kanchanpur, 5,607 in Darchula and 5,955 in Dadeldhura have been added to the voter list in the province.

In the province, female voters exceed male voters. Of the total voters, 696,580 are males while 739,077 are females. The number of third gender voters is 16, according to Regional Election Office, Dhangadi.
