BENI, MYAGDI: Police on Thursday arrested 14 persons on the charge of illegal gambling from three separate locations of Beni, district headquarters of Myagdi district.

District Police Office, Myagdi had deployed police personnel in civil clothes who raided three suspicious locations and arrested 14 persons red-handed, including one woman.

During the raid, police arrested Sher Bahadur Paiza, Gaman Chantyal, Bhim Chantyal, Jeevan Chantyal and Som Bahadur Chantyal from Hotel Namaste in Beni Municipality-8.

Similarly, police raided the house of Om Bahadur Chantyal of Pipal Chok in Beni Municipality-8 and arrested Om Bahadur with Yam Bahadur Chantyal, Manoj Pun and Tika Pun red-handed.

Likewise, Khadka Bahadur Garbuja, Bir Bahadur Sherpunja, Sikingar Bahadur Baniya, Bijay Sherpunja and Ken Karki were arrested from the house belonging to Karki in Galeshwor of Beni Municipality-9 in the district.

Police also confiscated Rs 50,000 from the incident site, informed Police Inspector Dipak Mahat Chhettri at the District Police Office, Myagdi.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
