140 million spent on rescue, relief in Karnali last year

Karnali Province spent over 140 million rupees on rescue and relief of natural disaster victims in the last fiscal.

Around 96.15 million rupees was spent on relief for 641 families of Surkhet who were rendered homeless due to floods five years ago.

Of the nine local bodies in the district, Simta and Chingad rural municipalities are yet to get the expenditure order.

Expenditure order of 19.6 million rupees has been given for local bodies of different districts for distribution in relief to victims of hailstorm this year.

While the government provided around 17.2 million rupees to 32 fire victim families in Palanta Rural Municipality, Kakikot,  it also provided 10 million rupees for victims of wind storm in Province 2.
