CHITWAN: At least 16 persons were injured when a truck hit a commuter bus at Tikauli of Bharatpur in Chitwan district along East-West Highway on Sunday.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the incident took place when the truck (Na 4 Kha 1436) heading towards Narayangarh from east hit the bus (Na 5 Kha 2807) enroute to Birgunj from Kathmandu from behind at around 3:50 am.

Among the injured, three people are receiving treatment at the Bharapur Hospital while 13 are undergoing  treatment at the Chitwan Medical Hospital, informed police.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
